11 of us student volunteers went to Musashi Elementary School in April. Since this was the first time for everyone, we wrote out in English and in French sample phrases on the white board. Tatsuya and Bruno explained briely how to use these to the students of the computer club. Then the club members and we volunteers went around presenting ourselves to each other in English. We were so surprised that the kids knew English better than we had expected!
After this round of presentations, we actually went to the computers and drew and wrote messages to our French partners.Among the kids, some were very keen on using French in their messages. We helped the kids write their messages in English and in French of course but also gave some guidance on how to use the computers. The hour really went by in the blink of an eye!
It was a lot of fun participating in this activity with the kids and I think it was a very instructive experience for us too. Well in any case we completed the first session with fun and no problems. I love Worldraw! I'm corresponding with Riho. I send her drawings or messages through e-mail and she sends pictures and messages to me too. We right in English but I also write "bonjour" and "salut" in French. I'm really glad I can actually exchange with a japanese friend. I'm lucky because so many want to communicate with japanese boys or girls.Gwenaelle is really nice to help us with the exchange and Stephane has helped us a lot explaining how to use the Paint program.(Marie - FRANCE Moreau Elementary student)

This time we were 10 students to go help at Musashi elementary school! Today's topic was "My Family". It seems as if the kids were really encouraged by the mail they got from France. It seems that there were more children participating this time. They had fun writing to their pen-pals while learning how to spell "mom" and "dad" in English. Really the hour flew by so fast and some of the kids didn't manage to complete their drawings. The teacher, Mr. Uemura, said that they should express more through pictures rather than through words, but as we read together the messages from France, I thought it should be up to the kids to decide how they want to respond. Kids who aren't so good at drawing could write more actually.

This is the third exchange at Musashi school and the lst for this semester. This time we were only 8 volunteers to participate. As this was the third time, the kids and volunteers were more used to each other and they asked more questions about English or French. But as much as they try, one hour is quite short for the kids and although they are really enjoying this I wonder how satisfied they are with the time frame. Next time we get together will be right after summer break and kids and volunteers alike really hope that we'll be as successful then.(Yoshiko Narukami- E-Friends volunteer)

This is my first time to participate in Worldraw. The kids were enjoying themslves much beyond what I had imagined and this makes us volunteers really happy too. I felt that communicating in such a way between people from the time you are in elementary school, would surely be most beneficial in a natural way to bring more understanding between different people. We went to Musashi Elementary school! Today's theme was "School & Friends".Everyone at Musashi wrote with clear colored letters and made large drawings, easy to understand by their French friends.
